Bello (“Bello,” “we,” “us”) operates bellolist.com, a directory and matching service for local home-service professionals in the Des Moines, Iowa metro. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Analytics information. We use Google Analytics (loaded through Google Tag Manager) to understand how visitors use the site — pages viewed, approximate location (city level), device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. Google Analytics sets cookies. We do not use advertising cookies or ad tracking pixels.
Information you give us. If you contact us by email or phone, we receive what you send (your email address, phone number, and message contents).
Quiz and callback requests. Our matching quiz runs in your browser. When the callback service is active and you submit a request, we collect your name, phone number, and job details so we can match you — nothing is collected from the quiz before you choose to submit a request.
Business listings. Listing information (business name, address, phone, services) is business contact information, much of it publicly available.
How we use information
To operate and improve the directory and matching service. To connect a homeowner who requests a callback with exactly one matched local business. To respond to inquiries and communicate about the service. To understand site usage in aggregate (analytics).
How we share information
With your matched business only. When you request a callback, your contact details and job description go to the single business we match you with, so they can contact you about your job. We do not broadcast requests to multiple businesses.
Service providers. Google provides our analytics. Providers process data under their own terms and only for the services they provide to us.
Legal reasons. If required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights or users’ safety.
We do not sell personal information for marketing, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Cookies
We use cookies set by Google Analytics to measure site usage. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work. You can also opt out of Google Analytics across all sites with Google’s opt-out add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as an opt-out of any processing that could be considered a “sale” or “share” where applicable law requires it.
Your choices and rights
Depending on your state of residence (including under Iowa and California law), you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, request its deletion, correct it, and opt out of its sale or sharing. To exercise any of these, email hello@bellolist.com — we respond within the timeframe your state’s law requires. We will never discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
Data retention and security
We keep contact and request information only as long as needed to operate the service and meet legal obligations, then delete it. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards; no system is perfectly secure.
Children
This service is for adults arranging home services. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable); contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy; the current version and its effective date will always be posted on this page.
